A Message From Our President

Hello!

It brings me great joy to be able to welcome you back to the Embro Fair. We missed you the last couple of years, but are very excited for what we have in stock this year. After two successful parades during the pandemics we are excited to be bringing the parade back to open the fair this year! Another hit from during the pandemic was our artisan market featuring many local businesses which we are excited to be bringing to our fair this year.

This year marks 50 years since the start of the ambassador program. As a past ambassador I cannot wait to highlight the ambassador program and the ambassadors over the past 50 years.  Visit our website or facebook page for an updated fair schedule as fair time approaches.

The fair theme is ‘How Sweet It’ is featuring honey and honeybees.  Honeybees are crucial to agriculture. They are responsible for approximately 80% of the world’s pollination. Making them extremely important for plants that rely on pollination. Bees pollinate many of our favorite fruits and vegetables, without them we could see a produce shortage on the shelves. Over the past 75 years, the bee population has continued to decline, making them an endangered species. I encourage you all to think about how important bees are to our ecosystem, and how big of a role they play in agriculture.

Finally, I would like to thank all of our sponsors, directors, volunteers, exhibitors and fair patrons for all of your support. Without you, we would not be able to have a successful fair or successful events throughout the year. We truly appreciate it. We are always looking for more volunteers for the board and the homecraft committee. If you are interested in being involved with the Embro & Zorra Agricultural Society, please email info@embrofair.com.

I hope you have a great time at the fair,

Katelyn Sykes,

President
