What is Homecraft Committee?

The Homecraft Committee is responsible for many of the exhibition entries and judging at the fair ( as listed in the Prizebook). You will find many of these items located inside the main entrance of the Embro Zorra Community Centre, on the north half of the arena floor.

Prior to the fair, Homecraft members:

  • Set the sections in each class and ensure the prizebook entries are correct. Classes reflect the fair theme, and are changed slightly each year.

  • Contact a judge from the OAAS accredited judging list to judge their class

  • Arrange a judges luncheon and meal for set-up crew

  • Contact the EZAS Secretary regarding ribbons, rosettes, etc.

  • Help to set up the exhibit tables, paper, skirting, signage, decor, and netting

  • Are present when entries arrive and ensure the entry tags are labeled correctly

  • Are available when judging occurs to assist the judge as needed

  • Display the items after they have been judged and attach prize stickers

  • Ensure EZAS Treasurer has record of the prize winners in order to distribute prize money to each exhibitor

After the fair, Homecraft is responsible for returning items entered to the appropriate tables, where entrants will pick up their items by 4pm on the Sunday of the Fair, as well as take-down of the exhibit displays and clean-up.
